A word from St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School

Greetings Morningside Community. This is a super exciting time of growth in the City of Detroit. That growth is happening not in just downtown and midtown, but is happening in all our local little neighborhoods too. Morningside is inclusive in this growth.

St. Clare of Montefalco has been present in the Morningside Community servicing children since 1926. The school and church have maintained a Gospel presence in the neighborhoods that surround it through all the different ups and downs which have occurred over the years. Many children in the Morningside neighborhood attended St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School. My children grew up in East English Village, attended this school, and many of their friends attended St. Clare and lived in Morningside. Now, I find myself the principal of this beautiful learning community.

St. Clare of Montefalco Catholic School is known for its diversity and inclusion of servicing children from different ethnicities, religions, and races. Our identity is about creating a culture of love, support, and spirituality that makes the St. Clare of Montefalco students have a strong sense of belonging. This identity stays with our children, our Falcons, for life.

Please visit our school website at www.stclareschool.net to explore our identity further. Check out our school’s Facebook page: facebook.com/stclarefalcons. You will discover beyond academics (in person and virtual) and spiritual guidance St. Clare of Montefalco School stresses the importance of community service and has a strong, renowned sports program.

I encourage you to consider having your child/children come join us and become part or our identity as Falcons too. I look forward to sharing the good news from the school in each one of your newsletters. Children from your community attending the school will be highlighted.

May God's blessing be with you,
Ms. Ann K. Crowley
