Final Improvement to Three Mile Park is in Progress
It’s been more than seven years since Morningside residents approved a design for the Three Mile-Munich Park. Through the combined efforts of the City, the nonprofit Say Detroit, and now Wayne County, the park has gradually been taking shape, one feature at a time, and has been put to good use.
Now the final piece of the design – a walking path that circles the four quadrants of the park - is being put into place by Wayne County workers. For those who have been concerned that it’s too late in the season for concrete to set properly, we were assured that the heating blankets covering the newly-poured concrete will allow the path to withstand Michigan weather just fine. Residents who are hardy enough to use it this winter can let us know.
Speaking of late-in-the-season infrastructure improvements, check out the trees that were planted last week along E. Warren from Bedford to Alter. We’re still trying to find out who is responsible for the plantings. Will those trees be able to thrive through a Michigan winter? Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned.
