Thinking of Running for the Board? We Hope So!

A community organization is only as strong as its leadership, so it’s important to have as many residents as possible choosing those leaders. Every April, at the Morningside Community Organization general meeting, we take nominations for the Board of Directors. Nominations are also open just before the election is run at the May general meeting.

Officers serve two-year terms with staggered elections and may serve no more than two consecutive terms in the same office. This year the positions of President, 2 Vice President, and Secretary are open. At-large board members serve one-year terms, with openings for as many as six members.

Please plan to attend this important meeting on Tuesday, April 8 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church. To be eligible to vote, you must have attended at least three meetings in the previous twelve months. If you’ve attended two meetings since last May, you need to attend the April meeting in order to vote or run for office in May.

We’re always looking for fresh new leadership, so if you want to make a difference in your community, please consider running for the board!
