Ricky Blanding, shown here giving an introduction to composting at the Morningside Community Garden on Barham near Mack, is the owner of Scrap Soils, and a man with a mission.

As their website describes it, Scrap Soils is “a mission-driven organization dedicated to reducing food waste and harmful greenhouse gas emissions one compost bin at a time. We aim to educate the community on the power of composting and make the process accessible for everyone.”

Scrap Soils is hoping to develop a partnership with Morningside in the coming months. In the meantime, you can find out more about the great work they’re doing here.
