Exotic Animals Kick Off Summer Reading Program at Jefferson Branch Library
Whether you’re young, old, or in between, you’ll find something fun to do at the Jefferson Branch Library this summer.
Wednesday, June 28th at 6 pm, Bees in the D - Participants will learn how to grow plants in their yards and gardens that help benefit pollinators. This program is for adults and families.
Thursday, July 7 at 2 pm, Animal Magic - Mark Rosenthal will be presenting this unique and educational exotic animal show for all ages as part of our Summer Reading Kick-Off.
Wednesday, July 12 at 2 pm, Arts & Scraps - Join us for this student craft workshop based on the theme “A New Fish in the Detroit River.” For ages 5 and up.
Wednesday, July 19 at 2 pm, Huron-Clinton Metroparks - “We’re Fond of Ponds” is an educational program for ages 6 and up. We’ll learn about ponds and ecosystems while having fun.
Wednesday, August 2 at 2 pm, Wayne County Parks - “Nature’s Superheroes” focuses on animals and plants that are the superheroes of the Crosswinds Marsh. This highly educational program is for ages 6 and up.
Wednesday, August 16 at 2 pm, Clark Family Players - “Bee Kind” is a special puppet show that embraces our Summer Reading theme of “All Together Now.” This entertaining show is designed for all ages.
Wednesday, August 30 at 2 pm, Hands-On Folktales - Storyteller James Abbott will present the Haitian Creole tale “Little John Lost and Found” for all ages during our Summer Reading Finale.
Family story time sessions will also take place every Friday at 10:30 a.m. for all ages. Join us for stories, songs, fingerplays, and crafts.
